The federal stimulus package provides more than $58.9 million to weatherize South Carolina homes.
The goal - Energy efficiency.
A 30-year-old home was costing Connie Hudson and her family comfort and money.
So Hudson started improving her home and making it energy efficient. She changed the windows and closed up holes in her air ducts.
The final result: Her energy bills dropped 30%.
"There are some very affordable processes that can be taken to make the home more energy efficient now more than ever," says Craig Fletcher, who's with Cutter's Insulation Incorporated.
He says the first step is getting an energy audit. That includes camera scans, air tests, and duct inspections.
Hudson thinks it's a worthwhile investment.
